Launching a coin

How to launch a coin on Zpad, what it costs, and what happens on chain.

What you need

FieldRules
WalletA Solana wallet with at least 0.05 SOL, plus a little SOL for the network fee.
Name1 to 32 characters (at most 32 bytes on chain).
Ticker1 to 10 letters or numbers. A leading $ is dropped.
PictureJPEG, PNG, GIF or WEBP, up to 4 MB and 4096 x 4096 pixels. Square works best.
AboutOptional, up to 500 characters.
LinksOptional: an X link (x.com or twitter.com), a Telegram link (t.me) and a website.
First buyOptional, off by default, up to 100 SOL. See "First buy" below.

Step by step

  1. 1Connect your wallet and sign the sign in message. It is free and moves nothing.
  2. 2Press Launch and fill in the form.
  3. 3Choose whether you want a first buy.
  4. 4Check everything, then sign the payment of 0.05 SOL in your wallet.
  5. 5Zpad sends your signed payment and waits until the chain confirms it.
  6. 6Zpad creates your coin on pump.fun. This keeps going on its own, even if you close the page.
  7. 7When the chain shows the coin, it is live: you land on its page and it shows in the explorer.
  8. 8If you turned on the first buy, sign that buy in your wallet.

What happens on chain

StepOn chain
PaymentOne Solana transaction from your wallet: 0.05 SOL to the Zpad launch wallet, with a memo that names the launch.
CreateThe Zpad launch wallet creates the coin on pump.fun through PumpPortal. It pays pump.fun's cost (about 0.02 SOL) out of your fee. The create buys no tokens.
Coin addressFixed the moment you start. A retry always uses the same address, so one launch can never make two coins.
Picture and detailsStored by Zpad. The coin's metadata link on chain points to them.
LiveZpad checks the create on chain before the coin shows anywhere.

Launch status

While your launch runs, the page shows where it is.

StatusWhat it means
PayingYour payment is on its way to the chain.
CreatingYour payment arrived. The coin is being created.
LiveYour coin is live.
FailedNothing was paid. For example the payment expired or the network refused it. Start again.
Paid, no coinYou paid, but the coin could not be created after 5 tries or 24 hours. Your payment goes on the refund list and is sent back to your wallet by hand.

Limits

  • Up to 6 launch starts an hour per wallet.
  • The fee is not refunded once your coin is live.
  • The Zpad launch wallet cannot launch a coin itself.
  • When launching is not open, the form says "Launching is not open yet. Nothing is created and nothing is charged until it opens."

The bonding curve

Every pump.fun coin starts on a bonding curve. The price is set by the curve: it rises as people buy and falls as they sell. The curve keeps virtual SOL times virtual tokens the same on every trade.

Total supply1,000,000,000 tokens, 6 decimals
Sold on the curve793,100,000 tokens
Kept for PumpSwap206,900,000 tokens
A new curve starts with30 SOL of virtual liquidity against 1,073,000,000 virtual tokens
Starting priceabout 0.000000028 SOL per token (a market cap of about 28 SOL)
SOL to buy out the curveabout 85 SOL, before fees
Market cap at graduationabout 410.9 SOL

Graduation to PumpSwap

When the last curve token is sold, the coin graduates by itself. pump.fun moves it to a PumpSwap pool with the other 206,900,000 tokens and the SOL the curve raised, and trading carries on there.

Zpad keeps showing the coin, its chart and its trades on the same page, and the coin moves to the Migrated column of the explorer.

Who is the creator

Zpad creates every coin through PumpPortal with its launch wallet. So on pump.fun the creator of every Zpad coin is the Zpad launch wallet, and it collects the creator fees. On Zpad, your wallet is shown as the coin's launcher.

What you get as the launcher

RewardAmount
Launch points10 points for every coin you launch that goes live
Graduation bonus2 SOL and 69 points when your coin graduates, once per coin. Every reward is first recorded as PENDING. The Zpad team sends it by hand, then it shows as PAID with its transaction.
Creator feesNot paid to you. They go to Zpad and are shared through the reward pools. See Fees.

First buy

You can choose to buy your own coin right after it is created. It is off by default. It is a normal buy at the curve price, signed in your own wallet, up to 100 SOL. Nothing is reserved for you, so others can buy at the same moment.

The first buy and every trade in a coin's first 30 seconds earn no tickets and no points.
